Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements (SSAE) No. 16, "Reporting on Controls at a Service Organization," has an effective date of June 15, 2011. Organizations, CPA’s and IS Auditors need to be up to speed on the new standard with new guidelines from the AICPA. It is designed to assist CPAs in transitioning from performing a service auditor’s engagement under Statement on Auditing Standards (SAS) No. 70, Service Organizations, to doing so under Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements (SSAE) No. 16, Reporting on Controls at a Service Organization, which replaces the guidance for service auditors in SAS No. 70. Sigma Technology won the award to provide Statement on Auditing Standard 70 Type II, Report on the Processing of Transaction by Service Organization, by Office of Technology Human Resources, State of Maryland. Sigma Technology will be Auditing Advanced Computer Services (ACS – Now Xerox) on behalf of the State of Maryland. This award is a result of Sigma Technology’s extensive track record in helping Federal and State Agencies achieve their Audit Compliance. SAS 70 reports are provided by independent Certified Public Accountants (CPA’s). SAS 70 is one of the Auditing Standards promulgated by the Auditing Standards Board (ASB) of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA)

Sigma Technology has been awarded a contract by Prince George’s County Public Schools to provide Universal Design for Learning (UDL) web services. UDL is the practice of embedding flexible strategies into the curriculum during the planning process so that all students can access a variety of e-learning solutions. Prince George’s County Public Schools is the 2nd largest school system in the state of Maryland and the 18th largest in the nation.

Sigma Technology Partners LLC has been awarded an IT Audit contract, by Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services. This is a yearly IT Audit contract in which Sigma Technology Partners LLC will be auditing all aspects of Information Technology and Communications within DPSCS. This auditing is included but not limited to all networks, communications functions, connectivity to several ITCD maintained criminal justice databases for outside agencies (State, County and Federal), VPN infrastructure, Firewall, Mainframe, Oracle and other technologies.
